Menarche Rite of Passage Ceremonies Brisbane

For generations, girls were welcomed into their menarche/first period with ceremony, wisdom and community.
These events are a revival of this ancient Rite of Passage for girls aged 9 ~ 14 and their Mothers/Guardians.

Celebrate Your Daughter 🌹

Be welcomed into a warm, nurturing space where girls and their mothers/guardians gather in circle to learn about their period, share stories, ask questions, and celebrate the menstrual cycle as something powerful, natural and worthy of honour.

About your Guide ☥💫

Bianca is a ceremonial priestess, guide, and author who holds people through spiritual journeys, life transitions, and sacred rites of passage. As a keeper of threshold spaces, she holds ceremonies as portals of remembrance and initiation. Deeply moved by the novel The Red Tent, Bianca is part of a growing movement of women dedicated to reviving the sacred feminine reverence that has been forgotten over time.

May our daughters always remember how powerful they are.

Menarche Rite of Passage FAQs

What age is this for?

1

Generally for girls around 9–13, depending on where they are in their development. If you’re unsure, you can always reach out and I can guide you. We trust your judgement as their mother/guardian.

What if my daughter hasn’t started her period yet?

2

That’s completely okay — and often ideal. This space helps her prepare for what’s coming, so when it does arrive, she meets it with understanding rather than fear or confusion.

How many people will be there?

3

We keep the group intentionally small (around 5–6 girls with their mothers/guardians). This allows it to feel safe, personal, and not overwhelming.

What will my daughter actually experience on the day?

4

She’ll be guided through a soft, age-appropriate experience that includes:

~ Understanding her cycle and what’s happening in her body

~ Guided reflection and sharing (nothing forced)

~ Connection with other girls going through the same transition

~ A meaningful ceremony to mark this moment

These ceremonies are located at The Goddess Temple in Milton, Brisbane.

Where is this located?

  • "My daughter and I attended the Red Tent and it was such a beautiful experience. The space felt genuinely welcoming, warm, safe and completely judgment free. What I loved most about what Bianca has created is that it gives girls a space to gather and connect ahead of, or at the start of their journey into womanhood. "
